The Secret Ingredient to Love: A Sense of Humour
Over the years, I’ve seen many relationships thrive 🙂 … and just as many fall apart. ☹️
But if there’s one quality that consistently keeps couples connected, it’s a shared sense of humour.
Think about it. How often do you hear someone say, “I love him … he makes me laugh” or “I’ll always remember how she could brighten any room with her jokes”?
Humour isn’t just about cracking jokes … it’s about making life’s ups and downs a little easier to navigate. It creates connection, diffuses tension, and reminds us not to take everything so seriously.
You Don’t Need to Be a Stand-Up Comedian
The beauty of humour in relationships is that it’s completely subjective.
What makes one person laugh might leave someone else scratching their head … and that’s perfectly fine.
If your partner thinks your jokes are funny, that’s all that matters. It’s not about having the wittiest one-liners … it’s about sharing little moments of laughter that only the two of you understand.
Lightening the Mood
Every relationship has its difficult moments. A well-timed joke or playful comment can break the tension and remind both of you that you’re on the same team.
All of which can help if needing to make-up with your girlfriend or boyfriend.
That doesn’t mean brushing problems under the rug … but a little humour can make tough conversations easier to navigate. 🤭
